Grand Valley State University Introduction to Fire Management Course

This course provides students with a basic introduction to wildland and prescribed fire ecology, behavior, and management. This is required training for all personnel seeking to become Wildland Firefighters under National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) certification standards. NWCG certifications S-130, S-190, and L-180 are granted upon successful course completion.

A charge $420 of for food, lodging, instructors, and course materials is payable to Pierce Cedar Creek Institute. Bedding and towels will be provided. The Pierce Cedar Creek Institute charge covers your housing for four nights, facility usage, four breakfasts, four lunches, and five dinners during the course.

Payment to the Institute is completed on the online registration. Payment is due by July 15, 2018. No refunds after August 1, 2018. If you would like to have your registration billed to your organization, please contact Sara Syswerda at syswerdas@cedarcreekinstitute.org to make arrangements.
