(Retired) Fire Manager

Paul is recently retired from the US Fish and Wildlife Service where fire management has been the focus for most of his career. Paul started working for USFWS seasonally as a BioTech in 1996. After several years he transitioned into fire as a different path to contribute to conservation through active management and remained in the USFWS Fire program for over 20 years. In the Midwest, Paul worked for USFWS in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and the grasslands in coastal Texas.

Paul has a BS in Fisheries from Frostburg State in Maryland and an MS in Entomology from Michigan State University.

Paul has been a birder since he was ten and birds led him into conservation. He remains a bird nerd.
