The S-130 Field Day (June 17th & 18th, 9am-4pm) is the required field portion to the S130 course. This provides a practical, outdoor training experience where participants apply basic wildland firefighting skills, including fire line construction, tool use, water handling, and safety procedures.
These trainings support qualifications such as Firefighter Type 2, Prescribed Fire Crew Member, and Michigan Certified Prescribed Burn Manager.
This in-person training will be hosted at GTRLC’s Conservation Center located at 2846 3 Mile Rd N Traverse City, MI. An optional pack test will be offered by GTRLC and MPFC on Thursday from 2pm - 4pm following completion of the RT-130.
